Black and Blue is a beer with which we have definitely learned how to be patient.
While we were waiting for its desired aromas and flavors, this Imperial stout taught us that patience always pays off, and this time we patiently waited for the full 2 years! Black and Blue is like most Imperial stouts: the longer it sits, the better the beer. Breweries usually age Imperial stouts for one year, but in order to achieve the desired result, we decided to age Black and Blue for the whole 2 years. As a result, we got a super funky Imperial stout with berry aromas that will literally knock you off your feet with its smooth drink-ability and strength of 11.2%.
We must also mention that Black and Blue subsequently fermented with Brett and blueberries in wooden barrels in which the wine was previously aged. Therefore, you can expect sour-funky-fruity aromas, with a pleasant roasty-smoky finish.
For the super fleshy blueberries we used in Black and Blue we can thank Goran from Crni Lug. His family-run farm Kod korita grows the blueberries in a completely natural way, without chemical treatment or supplementation.
